We moved to Birmingham from Chicago and have really grown to love it here. It’s really a hidden jewel. Not at all what we expected it to be.

Besides for Miami area there are not many nice Southeast cities IMO. Atlanta is okay, Charleston is nice and Raleigh is okay and Nashville or Memphis is not the worst. But that’s just about it.

We live in York SC and it’s great. It’s a small town 30 min. outside of Charlotte N.C.(The big city) Lot’s of places to hunt down South. My husband has been hunting the Southern regions for more than 20 years. We go to the beach at least 2-3 times a year(about a 31/2 – 4 hour drive)
I think it is a very nice place to live. You may consider Charlotte though if you like to be inside a big city.
