Every year the Blue Crab Festival is celebrated along the Little River waterfront, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This festival is one of the most popular events in the Myrtle Beach attracting thousands of peoples from the country. The celebrations include serving steamed crabs, live music, arts and crafts, family fun, kids area and community groups. The 31st Blue Crab Festival will be held on 19th & 29th May 2012.
The History of the Festival:
The festival was begun as a small waterfront gathering in 1981.The goal of the festival was to bring peoples to the waterfront to support the local businesses, traders and the community. Later it became a mega event involving sea food display, live music, arts and other family entertainments. The festival is also an opportunity to meet the community members living in and around the waterfront. The Little River is a fishing village located about 40 kilometers north of Myrtle Beach.
The hours of the festival will be from 9.00 am to 6.pmon both the days. The tickets for the festival are available at Little River Chamber of Commerce and the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce. Children under the age of 6 years and students are offered free entry to the festival.
