warbird park 1 Warbird Park, Myrtle BeachThe Warbird Park in Myrtle Beach is seen just west of Highway 17 on Farrow Parkway. It displays the aviation heritage of the United States and is dedicated to the aviators of the US Air Force and their families. The park displays warplanes stationed at the former Myrtle Beach Air force Base which were given to the park later. The Warbird Park is 4.6 acre in area with landscape and a trail overlooking Myrtle Beach International Airport.
The warplanes on display include the A-10 Thunderblot, A-7 Corsair II and F-100 Super Sabre.The A-10 Thunderbolt is a rugged and combat aircraft suitable for carrying bombs in large quantities. The A-7 Corsair was United States Navy’s fighter aircraft of WWII.It is equipped with an automated weapon delivery system to attack ground targets from the sea.
The Warbird Park also displays engraved granite nameplate of the members served honorably at the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, whether military or civilian. The nameplates will be two inches tall by seven inches wide in black granite displaying the name, grade and years of service of the member. The Warbird Park, Myrtle Beach is open to public all days with no entry fee.
