The beginning of March usually is around 0 degrees Celsius, which is like 30 Fahrenheit. Toronto has funky weather, it’s really hard to predict. Most beginning of March’s consist of melting snow and ice, but right now, Toronto has March weather, so who knows if March will be like a typical April.

I wouldn’t suggest tennis shoes. I personally would wear boots and tuck your pants in them, since the sidewalks get wet from all the melting snow and there’s a lot of salt on the roads, so it’s just easier to tuck pants in.

You can wear rain boots and they do have enough tread, unless you’re for some reason REALLY uncoordinated while walking. I walk around in Toronto with my Uggs that have no tread at all, and I survive!

You’re honestly making it sound like you’re going up to Alaska haha. You don’t need long underwear. I know like.. 3 people who wear them, and they only wear them on the days where we have an extreme cold alert when it’s like -25. Won’t be necessary in March.

Your ski jacket would be sufficient, but really not necessary. Do you have any lighter jackets? A jacket like this from American Eagle works even in the dead of winter, and is the right thickness for March in my opinion.

I just put on a scarf if I’m cold and it works like a charm. Wear a lighter jacket, carry around a scarf, and if really necessary, an extra cardigan/sweater

Also, if you’re staying in downtown, it’s warmer there. And since there’s so much traffic there, there’s barely any snow or ice unless it just snowed/rained the night before.

It’s good to come prepared, but don’t come overly prepared where you’re like the people who drive up to Toronto expecting snow in July and have ski’s strapped to the top of their car.

I don’t know that mucha bout the weather, but here’s a tip: the most heat escapes from your head, so get a nice ski cap!

    Enjoy with your boyfriend! x

We may get some nice weather or some nasty weather in March. It depends. Hopefully it will be nice and sunny to melt all the snow.

Dress for winter and melting snow. We’ve had a beautiful weekend, lots of sun and around the freezing point. Perfect for that maple syrup to get flowing.

Well I can tell you that last year during that time it Toronto the average temp was about 0 celcius which is 32 F. So that is still cold and you need a warm heavy jacket. We still have a lot of snow on the ground so in that time it will probably be melting still. The weather has been quite odd this year and it may be wamer around that time you are arriving. If you have boots I would bring them but if not, shoes will do just fine. You don’t need long thermal underwear. That’s for really cold days like -20c or so. Bring long sleeve shirts and jeans. Have a hat, scarf and mits since you will be outside lots. The ski jacket will be a good idea. You will not look odd in it. All the best on your trip and Toronto is a great City.
