I lived there for most of 2006. It IS beautiful. I’d love to move back sometime. It’s a really nice city, with a lot of history. There’s lots to do there. As for the people… Well, I’ve heard of “southern hospitality” but I never saw it down there. The people were rude and ****** (both black and white) and it seemed to me that the smartest people in the south are the ones who moved down from the north. But, I’m from West Virginia, where most everybody here are way nicer than in South Carolina. But it’s still a wonderful place. But it kinda ***** to live there if you’re poor (I was) The cost of living is higher than what I’m used to. (in WV a pitcher of beer is about 5 bucks, down there $10 pitchers is the “happy hour special”) But all that aside, I’m going back someday.
